OS 4.0.0.319

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.0.0.319 is out.  It's an upgrade to the existing OS.  Some of the highlights of the upgardes includes the addition of a passwork keeper and a HTML Browser!!!  Note:  The HTML browser that magically appeared on my 7520 after the .319 upgrade was suggested by forum members that what I have is the either the new HTML browser or the BES browser.  How'd that happen?  The Blackberry itself still mystifies me.

The upgrade and some of the features of this upgrade can be found here.  Note that the file is a Windows self executable file (22.6MB) and will install into the 7520 the next time you synch your BB into your computer.  Installing this OS will erase all applications on your BB but none of the data will be affected unless you disable the autobackup option during installation.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.0.0.319 adds support for Location and Voice Notes APIs on BlackBerry 7520.

Developers are able to create applications using BlackBerry JDE v4.0.1 for the BlackBerry wireless platform that include GPS, GIS and spatial information tools. The Location API is exposed via JSR 179, the Java standard for location-based services. In addition, BlackBerry JDE v4.0.1 includes support for new Voice Notes APIs enabling application developers to play and manage voice note files."

Note that Password keeper is unchecked from the application loader installation menu by default.  If you want to install it, check that box!  It creates a seperate icon so it is easy to access it as opposed to going through options in the previous version.
