One of the greatest software to be available for the Blackberry would be Berry411. Berry411 is a free software that allows 411 searches via your data network. Check out the review below.
All directions and google map images displayed here are from my HTML browser (BWC). I had the greatest difficulty and annoyance in using the Berry411 directions under the NOL browser....copying and pasting the URL into WebViewer didn't help much as well.
Berry 411 allows up to 3 addresses to be inputted into the application (all editable); Home/Address/Other. There are 6 search options in Berry411:
1 - Yellow Pages
2 - White pages
3 - Google (web search)
4 - I'm feeling lucky (a google feature)
5 - Movies
6 - Shopping (uses froogle.com)
I'm taking my buddy out for his Bday. Let's see how Berry411 works:
I'm searching for Ruth's Chris Steakhouse using my 'other' address.
I'm gonna use Yellow Pages
Loading screen (uses your default web browser)
Search results; notice it gives you distance from my 'other' address as well as a map link. Also note that the phone number is a link. By clicking on it, the Blackberry recognizes it as a phone number and thus, allows you to make the call directly from this screen.
Directions; sweet.
Berry411 uses Google Map; unfortunately, the map is not interactive like the desktop counterpart but at least you get a decently clear map.
In addition to the yellow pages, I find the movie search feature to be incredibly awesome. It not only tells you where the films are playing around your chosen address but as well as the showtimes that is playing there. Can't buy tickets over the phone yet but having this info can make you a popular hang out buddy. ;P

I have the same problem as others, no results found for any place white or yellow pages.

I've just downloaded the most recent version (2.5). It's really cool but I can't get any maps to display. I'm unable to change the Emulation Mode. All I see for the map image is ">>". Any suggestions?

So Far I Love this Application! I downloaded and installed 411 v. 2.5 today and cannot use the Enclopedia function, also when I tried to emulate the Ruth's Chris example above (or any other Yellow pages)I get "No results found" followd by "Google Ads".
Anyone have any ideas if I'm doing something wrong?

How did you configure the browser to show the map image wide like that? On mine it's a centered square, only taking 1/2 the screen width.
Thanks!
Brian
My reply: Try this: Go into your Internet browser and click on Options>Browser Configuration>Emulation Mode. I have mine set to MS Pocket IE. I played around with the various emulations and can;t seem to determine what the differences are. Hope that helps.
